Applications
It is a cement hydration–accelerating admixture that works by shortening the setting time and speeding up the initial hardening of freshly poured concrete, thereby providing the early strength needed to resist freeze damage and enabling cold-weather placement.

Considerations
Instructions for Use
When concreting in cold weather, consider the following:
Remove water, snow, and ice from formwork and reinforcement.
If possible, warm them so their temperature exceeds 5 °C.
Ensure concrete temperature does not drop below 6 °C.
Maintain concrete temperature using suitable coverings if possible.
If the ANTIFREEZE material freezes at very low temperatures, thaw it in a warm environment; never apply direct heat.
For concrete production, it is best to mix the antifreeze with the mixing water first, then add to dry components.
For ready-mix concrete, pour antifreeze into the mixer truck and begin concreting after complete mixing.
If necessary, heat aggregates, especially mixing water, and use coverings to prevent temperature loss in freshly poured concrete.
The antifreeze accelerates heat generation, speeding hydration and increasing concrete temperature. After addition, no part of the concrete should drop below +5 °C, as hydration will slow significantly. If temperature drops below +5 °C, the dosage is insufficient.
Note: Shake the antifreeze container thoroughly before use to ensure uniformity.
Dosage of Concrete Antifreeze
The recommended dosage is based on the percentage of cement weight. Deduct the equivalent antifreeze weight from the mixing water. This maintains slump (workability) and prevents strength loss.
Adjustment of Dosage
Using less or more than the recommended range requires approval from Alvand Chemical Yaran Industries’ concrete technology experts. For simultaneous use of multiple admixtures, contact the technical office before use.
